I lived in Japan for two years when I was in the Navy but I never lived off base so I didn’t have Japanese neighbors.
But what I did learn is that the Japanese are VERY polite and they will love pretty much anything you get. If they are new to the country, see if you can get them something unique to the new country they are in.
For example, If I were still in Texas and had new Japanese neighbors, I would make them a Pecan Pie and get them a good set of BBQ utensils and spices then have them over for a BBQ the next weekend. It’s unique to the region and they would most likely welcome the experience.
Comments on is there a traditional housewarming gift for Japanese ppl?
